About Patna

The capital of Bihar, Patna is one of the oldest inhabited places in the world and has a history of over 2500 years. About Patna Airport

The Patna airport is named after an Indian independence activist, Jayprakash Narayan. The airport is located 5 km southwest of city centre. It has a short runway and hence is classified as a restricted international airport.

The Airport Authority of India (AAI) is working towards the expansion of the airport, which is expected to be completed by 2021. It is the 16th busiest aiport in India.

The unique structure was built by Captain John Gastin for the purpose of using it as a storehouse. Patna Museum

It is locally known as Jadu Ghar, and the Patna Museum houses over 50,000 rare art objects. The artefacts include objects from the ancient, middle ages, and the British colonial era. The construction of the structure is a combination of Mughal and Rajput architecture. It was built in 1917, during the British rule in India.

Mahatma Gandhi Setu

This is the second longest river bridge in India after the Bhupen Hazarika Setu (also Dhola-Sadiya Bridge) in Assam. It extends over the holy Ganges River for 5.7 kilometres and connects Patna to to Hajipur. Before the erection of the Mahatma Gandhi Setu, people travelled from Patna to Hajipur by ferries or boats.
